Our Sunday services follow a fixed monthly pattern, with a range of different services targeted at a range of audiences. We generally meet each Sunday at 10am and 6.30pm.
(First Sunday morning of each month, 9.30-11am)
Downstairs Church is a relaxed service targeted at families on the first Sunday of each month. Taking place downstairs from the main church service, this café style worship begins with breakfast for all at 9.30am, before the traditional service upstairs at 10am. The fun then starts at 10am with games and activities to worship God in a child and family orientated way. The remaining church then joins for tea and coffee at around 11am.
All-Age Worship/Family & Parade Service
(Second Sunday morning of each month, 10-11am)
Our monthly All-Age Worship services aim to be as broad as possible, through the use of drama, video, games, quizzes and other activities integrated into our time of worship to ensure the message reaches all ages. We are also joined by members from Cottingham Scout Group each month who get involved in the worship, and we have music from the Cottingham Methodist Church Worship Band.
Our traditional services consist of hymns led by our organist and choir, plus prayer and message. These are held regularly.
The more traditional communion tends to follow one of the three Methodist communion structures. All are welcome to eat and drink with us. We use a non-alcoholic substitute for the wine as is traditional for Methodist churches, and gluten free bread is available with prior warning. These tend to be held twice a month - once in a morning and once in an evening.
Cottingham Churches United Service
(Fifth Sunday evening - quarterly, 6.30pm)
Once a quarter, Cottingham Churches meet at one of the member churches for a joint celebration of unity and commitment to ecumenical working.
